Description
Tony Dobson is P.G.A. Professional at Stonham Barns Golf Centre. He has been a P.G.A Golf Professional for over 20 years and during that time he has taught thousands of people of all levels with many having regular lessons to maintain their improvement. Many of his customers have reduced there handicap considerably and he believes that anyone who plays or who hopes to start playing golf can benefit tremendously from golf lessons.

His teaching method is simple and is based on the basics of golf along with the clear communication with the customer. When teaching he has the following aims :

  • Put the customer at ease

  • Assess the customers requirments

  • Advise in simple terms the correct technique

  • Propose practice methods to improve swing

  • Encourage customers to enjoy their practice

    Individual Lessons
    Individual Lessons can be booked at any time. All lessons include range balls and equipment if required.
    Costs
    Intital Lessons £25.00 (includes all equipment)

    Group Lessons
    Group lessons are available for groups of 8 or more. These lessons would be for one hours tuition and would include all balls equipment if required. We have special group packages for Schools / Juniors / Ladies / Club Golfers / Beginners.

    Beginners Lessons
    Many beginners are apprehensive of having golf lessons, worried that they might make a fool of themselves. Tony has taught many people who have just started golf and he will aim to put you at ease straight away. It is important with golf more than any other sport that people have lessons before they start on their own. They will then find that they can enjoy the game much more and understand the basic principles of the game.
    For anyone starting golf Tony would recommend that they have an intial lesson to confirm to themselves that lessons will help.
    Then he would recommend they have a Starter Series of Lessons which would go through the following:

  • Grip

  • Stance

  • Setup

  • Posture

  • Swing

  • Chipping

  • Sand Shots

  • Woods and Long Irons

  • Putting

  • Golf Etiquette

  • Introduction to the Course


    • This will give the customer an understanding of golf and will set them on their way to enjoying playing golf on a course.
    Costs
    Starter Series £90.00
    This includes 4 half hour golf lessons at the time of you choice, a starter information pack and 9 holes on Stonham Barns Golf Centre

    Improvement Lessons
    This offers the established golfer to have 5 lessons over a shortish period, around 5 to 6 weeks, to work on particular aspect of their game or sort out a particlaur problem. Tony will assess what work needs to be done and work with the customer to achieve results.
    Costs
    4 Lessons Improvement Lessons - £90.00
    This includes 4 half hour golf lessons which can be arranged at times of the customers choice.

    Monthly Lessons
    This offers the golfer the opportunioty to have a regular monthly lesson.
    Costs
    12 Monthly Lessons - £200
    This includes 12 half hour golf lessons which can be arranged at times of the customers choice at approximately monthly intivals.
