Titleist Custom Fitting in Detail
Here is some of the information to be considered when ordering custom fit golf clubs. If you are purchasing Titleist Clubs from us online and you need any advice or assistance please call us on 01449 711545 and our PGA Professional to be pleased tp help you.

Golf Club Length
The proper club length will allow for correct posture at address and will help in achieveing a more constant strike of the ball. Testing would normally be done with a 6 irons and once the corrcet length has been identified this would be implemented through the set of irons. A standard 6 iron length 37.5" and any adjustments would be done in ¼" measurements.

Golf Club Lie Angle
The lie of the club on the ground can have a significant effect on a player's ball flight and strike. For example a players with a lie angle that is too flat would be more likely to hit the ball to the right as the toe of the club would make contact with the ground before the heel. This can then lead to players deveveloping compensating swing changes leading to inconsistant perfromance. Lie angle is tested with impact tape and a lie board (or even a golf mat). The standard lie of an iron head is 62.5 degress (shaft angle from clubhead).

Shaft Flex
The correct shaft flex for a player is very important and will allow the player to load the shaft properly and maximize energy transfer to the ball. The shaft flex can determine not only distance but direction. In general a faster swing would require heavier shafts and firmer flexes and slow swings would benefit from lighter weighted shafts with softer flexes.
